Moonlighter 2 Dungeon Guide

Steam describes dangerous dungeons and vibrant dimensions full of loot and enemies. It also says deeper exploration brings greater rewards, which makes route planning and extraction decisions central to the guide.

The three dimensions

Moonlighter 2 has three dimensions, each with an easier first floor and a harder second floor, and each running its own relic curse. Floors unlock through Tresna story quests rather than levels.

  • Kalina — desert dimension; Burn and Armor curse; bosses The Herald and Thalaam.
  • The Gallery — museum-machine dimension; Shock and Overcharge curse; bosses The Curator and Tyke.
  • Aeolia — windy magic isles; Petrify and Absorb curse; bosses Senda and Monte.

Plan the run around extraction

The published game description advises players to plot a clever route, arrange loot carefully, and remember that deeper runs bring greater rewards. This gives us a confirmed decision pattern: what to carry, how far to push, and when to return matter as much as clearing enemies.

  • Start with a route that leaves room for the loot you expect to collect.
  • The pendant teleports you home at any time with everything in the bag; there is no penalty beyond skipped loot.
  • Record the depth, loot category, and outcome for every repeatable run.

Endless Vault context

The Endless Vault is described as an ancient artifact whose trials test merchants and raise the stakes for rewards and town upgrades. Its exact rooms, encounters, and boss behavior are not published in the Steam description.

The Infinite Endless Vault changes how you plan a run

Version 1.0 added a postgame that unlocks after the main story, and it is the one place where the extraction decision has a published rule. The launch announcement describes an endless series of increasingly difficult thresholds and states that each one must be completed in a single run — failing to reach the required amount of gold resets your progress for that threshold.

That makes gold, not depth, the scoring metric there, and it removes the option of banking partial progress across trips. No gold target, threshold count or scaling rule has been published, so the only honest planning advice is to treat every threshold attempt as a single closed run.
