VerifiedMoonlighter 2 Weapons, Armor, and Upgrades
Moonlighter 2 has four melee classes — Short Swords, Large Swords, Spears and Gauntlets — plus a gun that rides alongside your melee weapon and a set of armor. Every class has a Merchant’s starter, an Ultimate version, named Early Access aspects, a Boss Rush aspect from the Blob-Life update, and an Endless aspect from Version 1.0. This page indexes every weapon with its special effect, how to unlock it, and where it fits.

How the weapon classes work
- Short Swords: three arcing slashes and an Attack Finisher; the Special is a spin that chains into a Special Finisher after three hits.
- Large Swords: wide slashes that spend Sharpness; the Special rebuilds it, and damage scales with the current Sharpness level.
- Spears: quick stabs that plant spearheads; the Special recalls every spearhead, hitting everything in their path.
- Gauntlets: rapid punches that fill the Berserk meter; the Special slams both gauntlets and Berserk raises damage and attack speed.
- Guns: built at Babyl’s Workshop, ammo refills on melee hits, and shots knock flying enemies out of the air.
Short Swords
- Merchant’s Sword — bonus damage for 3s after a Special Finisher; the beginner pick.
- Everlasting Fury — +50%/60%/75% damage to Elites, Minibosses and Bosses.
- Ray Axe — chain the Special Finisher straight after the Attack Finisher for +20%.
- Ultimate Short Sword — +20% Special Finisher; a kill grants 3s of infinite ammo.
- Starsign Horn — Blob-Life aspect, reward for Lita’s Kalina Boss Rush.
- Endless Short Sword — Version 1.0: multi-hit piercing Special that scales with combo.
Large Swords
- Merchant’s Large Sword — more damage while Sharpness is above a threshold.
- The Vow — attacks stop consuming Sharpness, but 2% drains per second.
- Aetherium Heart — Special deals +40% per Sharpness level; a top-rated weapon.
- Ultimate Large Sword — one less max Sharpness, but Sharpness boosts ailments.
- Protocol Breaker — Blob-Life aspect, reward for Babyl’s Gallery Boss Rush.
- Endless Great Sword — Version 1.0 Golden Guild block-and-counter stance.
Spears
- Broom Spear — the no-Special starting weapon; boss kills earn Humble Hero.
- Merchant’s Spear — spearheads deal bonus damage.
- Combat Rod — slow recall dealing 200% continuous damage.
- The Rectifier — returned spearheads orbit you for 5s at +70%/85%/100%.
- Ultimate Spear — homing recall; a top-rated weapon.
- Dreampiercer — Blob-Life aspect, reward for Julien’s Aeolia Boss Rush.
- Endless Spear — Version 1.0: spends spearheads to empower basic attacks.
Gauntlets
- Merchant’s Gauntlets — extends Berserk duration.
- Sun and Moon Ballad — double hits for 3s/4s after Berserk ends.
- Heartbeat Hunter — +40% damage in Berserk, but you take double damage.
- Ultimate Gauntlets — bank charges for extra Special hits.
- Single Strike — Blob-Life aspect, reward for the Interdimensional Boss Rush.
- Endless Gauntlets — Version 1.0: much stronger attacks while Berserk is active.
Guns and gadgets
- Blob Gun — the default anti-air gun; refills on melee hits.
- Blo-Blaster — close-range cannon; hidden treasure in Aeolia.
- Blo-Beam — long-range beam; a top-rated gun.
- Blo-Blitz — dual guns for on-hit perk builds (Greed & Glory).
- Blo-Buddy — floating auto-fire companion, great for Ice/Poison.
- Machine Gun — a Version 1.0 craftable gadget.
Armor sets
- Nimbus Regalia — a dungeon-start Shield that grants +20% damage on break (Greed & Glory).
- Endless Void Armour — Version 1.0 crit set that scales with Spark perks.
Upgrading and best picks
Upgrades raise the number in a weapon’s effect text. Tiers cost 2,000 gold (Common), 5,000 (Uncommon), 20,000 (Rare) and 50,000 (Epic), each with a growing count of that weapon’s material; a Legendary tier exists but its full cost is not published. Early Access tier lists agree the Aetherium Heart, Ultimate Spear, Ultimate Short Sword and Blo-Beam are the strongest picks; the Version 1.0 Endless aspects have not been ranked yet.
