Where you fight it

  • Dimension: Kalina.
  • Floor: Day Realm.
  • Phases: 3.
  • Achievement: Out of Tune (hidden).

Attack patterns and phases

  • Starts every phase behind 6 energy shields. Catch the purple bomb blobs with your backpack and throw them back to strip the shields.
  • If you fail to push him to the next phase during the stun, he returns with only 3 shields.
  • Phase 2 destroys the right-hand cover and adds a two-way laser.
  • Phase 3 removes all cover and layers bombardment over the laser sweep.

How to beat it

The first boss in the game. Beating him the first time starts the quest that opens the Night Realm.

Kalina bosses reward dodge discipline: bring a maxed short sword and focus on reading telegraphs over raw burst.

Learn the telegraphs first — every attack has a wind-up you can dodge — and make sure your weapon is upgraded before you commit a farming run.

Drops

Defeating The Herald drops Sound of Harmony (rare material) + 2 chests.
